    OBJECTIVE:
To recognize Amarillo businesses and promote the business community, as a representative of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. Functioning as set forth in the Chamber Mission Statement. The Committee’s services are not to be used for self-serving interest, but for community involvement, interest best serving the community and commitment toward the growth of Amarillo. It is agreed that Round-Up members attend functions to promote the Chamber and community and not our businesses.

    1. Each event will meet the Round-Up Club Objective.
    2. All events must be approved by the Chair of the Round-Up Club, the Round-Up Club liaison and Chamber management
    3. Qualifications for Ribbon Cuttings and Groundbreaking ceremonies are:
    • new business
    • major expansion
    • relocation of business
    • change of ownership
    • milestone anniversary

    MEMBERSHIP:
    Business or Individual
    1. All members must be employed by a firm in good standing with the Chamber of Commerce, an individual dues-paying member or an Honorary/Life Member of the Chamber.
    2. Membership applications are reviewed by the active members of the Round Up Club. Applications could be declined if three (3) members object to the membership; an application will not be rejected due to competition.
    3. All members must purchase a red blazer; the name badges are furnished by the Chamber.
    4. To maintain membership: a member must attend at least 15% of the events in a three (3) month period or their membership will be dropped. This requirement will be strictly enforced.
    5. The Chamber desires to have all business groups represented in the Round-Up Club.

    CONDUCT:
    1. We will always introduce ourselves as representatives of the Chamber.
    2. We will arrive on time to a ceremony. Late arrivals will not receive attendance points.
    3. A professional demeanor is a must; we will keep unnecessary comments to ourselves.
    4. Proper business attire is required; official red blazer that matches the group (no red blazer…no points), name tag, dress slacks or skirt, with a nice shirt or blouse. Inappropriate clothing such as; shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes, exercise clothing, ball caps, anything too casual will not be tolerated. Nice-looking dress jeans will be acceptable on Fridays, after regular business hours and on weekends.
    5. Our cell phones will at the very least be turned off, if not left in our cars.
    6. We will not bring any children, grandchildren, or friends to the events unless the function is held after business hours or on a weekend. After business hours and weekends are family time and the business owner will be made aware that the volunteers are on their time and children, and friends, may be present.
    7. Only if the business owner asks the name of our employer are we to tell them. We are not to elaborate on our services or our products during the event. Business cards will not be given out during the event. It is acceptable to conduct business with the business owner after the ceremony is concluded and our red blazers are placed in our cars. Remember: during any Round-Up event you are representing the Chamber as a volunteer.

Common sense should prevail at all times…violators are subject to the “three strikes and you’re out” policy.

    POINTS:
1 point for every ceremony attended.   At the first meeting in October, a drawing will be held; the club members with 51% or better in attendance during the previous year will have a chance to win one of two prizes.

    MEETINGS:
The Round-Up Club meets monthly at a Chamber member restaurant during the lunch time period.
