Schedule a Ribbon Cutting or Ground Breaking Event

Is your organization a new member of the Chamber?  Is your business celebrating a milestone anniversary (10, 25, or 50 years) in business?  Have you recently moved to a new location or undergone a major renovation?  Will you be building a new location for your business?  We can help you celebrate with a FREE Ribbon Cutting or Ground Breaking event.  (Please note that Ribbon Cuttings or Ground Breaking Ceremonies are a benefit of Chamber Membership.  If you are not yet a member of the Chamber, please join online or give us a call.)

Scheduling a Ribbon Cutting or Ground Breaking

When can you hold Ribbon Cutting or Ground Breaking Ceremony?  These events are scheduled on a first-come basis, and events must be scheduled with at least 1-hour between the start time of any other ribbon cutting or ground breaking event already scheduled on the same day.  Check the online calendar to see what is already scheduled for the future or the Week's Sneak Peek page for what's coming up within the next few weeks.  Please keep in mind, the Chamber may block certain days off for our community events and holidays that will not be available for ribbon cuttings or ground breaking events.

** NOTE:  Official Ribbon Cuttings & Ground Breakings with our Round-Up Club Volunteers can be held during the above listed times.  Should you need to hold an event outside of these hours or on weekends or holidays, we will help promote your event online and can loan you scissors or shovels, however, Chamber Staff or RoundUp Club members will not be in attendance.  Please note, we cannot hold events on major Chamber event days (Chamber Golf Tournament, Barbecue Cook-Off, BusinessConnection, or Business Excellence Awards Reception), and we reserve the right to not hold events on the Friday after a major Chamber event mentioned above.  No events can be held the week of the Chamber's annual Barbecue Cook-Off the first week in October or the last two weeks of the year.

How We Promote Your Event--the FREE Benefits!

BEFORE THE EVENT:

Once your event date & time have been confirmed, we will begin promoting your event in the following ways:
  • We will create a digital image / graphic with your company logo, a photo, date, time, and address.
  • Your event and digital image will be added to the Chamber Calendar online.
  • Your event will be added to the Week's Sneak Peek page at least two weeks prior to the event start date.
  • We will create a Facebook Event and tag your business as a Co-Host so that you may share it with your followers and invite your friends, customers, and clients on Facebook.
  • Your event details and logo will be promoted in the "Upcoming Events" section of our weekly Tuesday Newsletter for up to two weeks prior to the event that is emailed to all our members.  Click here to see an example of our weekly newsletter.

AT THE EVENT (BASIC LEVEL MEMBERSHIPS - PHOTO ONLY):
  • We bring the big scissors and ribbon for ribbon cutting events or we bring 6 shovels for ground breaking events
  • Some members of our Round-Up Club (Volunteers in Red Coats) will be onsite to help celebrate.
  • We take photos of the actual ceremony part (the digging or the cutting).

AT THE EVENT (GOLD LEVEL MEMBERSHIPS & HIGHER - PHOTO & VIDEO):
  • We record a short video of your representative talking about what we are celebrating, where you are located, and any special information you want to share right before we cut or dig.  Videos can be anywhere from 1-3 minutes long.  Note, videos are benefit of Gold Membership Level or higher.  To see the benefits of each membership level, click here, and if you would like information on upgrading your membership to a higher tier, contact Christy King at (806) 342-2015 or the Chamber at (806) 373-7800.

AFTER THE EVENT:
  • Later the same day as your event, we will put a special frame around the photo with your business name and address on the photo and share it on the Chamber's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram social media sites and tag your business so that you may share it on your sites.
  • If applicable, we will share the video of your event on the Chamber's Facebook page.
  • We will include the photo of your event (and link to your video if applicable) in our our weekly Tuesday Newsletter the week following your event.
  • We will share the photo of your event with some of our media partners who may opt to include it in future publications including Brick & Elm Magazine.  You will be notified by email if your photo appears in a publication so that you can pick up your own copy.
  • You will be emailed photos that we took at the event to use in your own social media sites, website, or newsletters.
