The purpose of the Sports Committee is to promote local and area sports. The committee, comprised of volunteers, meets monthly in September to May. If you are interested in joining the committee, please fill out the membership committee application.

Projects and Programs

• Monthly luncheons are held in September to May to recognize students, individuals and teams in Amarillo and the surrounding area for their athletic achievements.
• Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame, co-sponsored by the chamber and the YMCA to recognize athletes and teams for outstanding athletic achievements.
• Bi-district Playoff Games are held in Amarillo and the winners are presented trophies that are purchased by the Chamber of Commerce. Teams from the surrounding area are invited to play football at the Dick Bivins Stadium and volleyball and basketball in the Activity Center of the Amarillo Independent School District.
