Civic Beautification Committee

The purpose of the Civic Beautification Committee is to work with volunteers, local, county, state and federal agencies to beautify the community.

The committee meets monthly to report and work on the projects. If you are interested in becoming a member, please fill out the membership committee application or call Becky Zenor, Vice President of the Quality of Life Council at 806.373.7800.

Program and Projects

  • Landscaping Projects are chosen by the committee members and usually involve the city, county and state entities. Past projects include Sixth Street Entrance near Georgia Street, Veterans Memorial located near the Don Harrington Discovery Center, triangle located at East 27 Avenue, Llano Cemetery and school projects include Palo Duro High School, Horace Mann Middle School, Travis Middle School, Robert E. Lee Elementary and AACAL
  • Civic Beautification Awards are presented to businesses that are Chamber members to recognize their landscaping efforts. You may email or call in a nomination.
  • Support Keep Amarillo Beautiful, a non-profit organization that promotes beautification, city clean-up programs and recycling. 
  • Assisted the City of Amarillo project: Rails to Trails.
