Governmental Affairs Council
The Governmental Affairs Council is volunteers, comprised of Chamber members that represent business interests in public policy and civic arenas by researching, identifying and tracking legislative issues and advocating for business interests to governmental officials on the local, state and federal levels.

Event is designed to provide an opportunity for business and community leaders from throughout the Panhandle to travel to Austin during the legislative session for discussions with state legislators regarding key issues that affect Amarillo and our surrounding communities. The Chamber partners with local business leaders to secure a productive business environment for the city of Amarillo. The council serves as the voice of Amarillo on issues such as defense, energy, healthcare and workforce development to government officials in Washington, D.C., so they may make informed decisions that could ultimately have a positive impact on Amarillo.
